Condensers

VS - Air Conditioning Condenser

The condenser is a heat exchanger. It is located at the front of the vehicle. The condenser cools down the refrigerant (heated up by the compressor) and becomes a liquid (condensates) by transferring its heat to the flow of ambient air passing through it. Valeo’s OE expertise are present throughout the wide range of 460 part numbers which covers 85% of the European passenger cars and Light Commercial Vehicles car parc. The benefits are as follows :

  • Optimized design of the condenser, depending on the vehicle’s requirement and space allowance in front of the vehicle
  • Well designed micro-port condenser tubes to provide efficient and effective heat transfer performance.
  • Enhanced corrosion resistance, tested under tough weather conditions, to suit high humidity areas (SWAAT* test)
  • Leakage, durability and vibration tested for noise reduction and for optimized driver/passenger comfort

*SWAAT: Sea WAter Acidified Test The Valeo condenser range is entirely aluminium brazed.

The receiver drier can be directly integrated to the condensers to preserve the overall structure and decrease the level of vibration. Valeo Info: The condenser must be replaced following a crash, a breakdown or a leak. During replacement, following condenser disassembly, you should plug or cap the lines immediately after disconnecting them to avoid contamination with moisture and dust. Valeo also recommends replacing the receiver drier cylinder, the joints, changing the oil (rinsing the circuit using the flushing kit) and injecting the tracer for leak detection.
