Evaporator sensors

What are evaporator sensors?

An evaporator sensor is a temperature sensor with two main roles:

Detecting the evaporator temperature

Preventing the evaporator from freezing by halting cold generation

The sensor detects the temperature and sends it to the control system, which switches off the compressor. The compressor generally disengages when the detected temperature achieves -1°C, and re-engagement occurs at 4°C (values depends on the car maker strategy).

    Condensor

The condenser is a heat exchanger that is located at the front of the vehicle. The condenser cools down the refrigerant (heated up by the evaporator) and becomes a liquid (condensates) by transferring its heat to the flow of ambient air passing through it. Valeo Service - OES offers the condenser alternative range covering more than 90% (mix of Gennuine and alternative range) of of European passenger cars and Light Commercial Vehicles 5-10 years old car parc.

    Mechanic and Hydraulic actuator

Along new car manufacturers’ requirements, it has become difficult to fit a cable in a straight line between the pedal and the lever. That’s why more and more cars are now using hydraulics systems. These are much more flexible and reliable compared to cable systems. First, they enable an optimal and constant pedal effort. Second, the used material is much lighter (up to 70% reduction of weight compared to the standard clutch system command) as well as much more compact. This is the main reason why this technology is easier to implement on OE projects.

    Traditional kit

Clutch Kits: More powerful engines, longer ratios and new lifetime specifications have led to the development and introduction of more complex clutch designs such as Valeo SAT (Self Adjusting Technology). The SAT is a Valeo revolutionary technology that uses a self-adjusting facing wear compensation device on the pressure plate, thereby enhancing the clutch life and improving the pedal comfort. Valeo also supplies its self-adjusting technology to truck manufacturers.
